Error description

An OutOfMemoryError may occur while using a JAX-WS
application.  The error may occur after many applications are
run over a long period of time.

The customer may observe the following class using a large
portion of the heap:
  com/ibm/xml/xlxp2/scan/util/SymbolTable

An OutOfMemoryError may occur while using a JAX-WS
application.  The error may occur after many applications are
run over a long period of time.

The customer may observe the following class using a large
portion of the heap:
  com/ibm/xml/xlxp2/scan/util/SymbolTable

This problem is due to an error in IBM's XML parser, which is
used by the JAX-WS runtime.

Problem conclusion

For efficiency, the StAX parser maintains a symbol table
containing the names of elements, attributes and namespaces
URIs which it has previously scanned. In some scenarios the
growth of this table could cause a large number of objects
from older generations of the table to be leaked which could
eventually result in an OutOfMemoryError. This problem was
fixed by freeing the references to these old objects.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.11.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
