Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Object Comparison               *
*                 and DB2 Administration Tool for              *
*                 z/OS who use the Change                      *
*                 Management function.                         *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When an index is renamed,               *
*                      DB2 Object Compare drops                *
*                      and recreates the index instead         *
*                      of generating the RENAME                *
*                      INDEX statement.                        *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
When an index is renamed, DB2 Object Compare
drops and recreates the index instead of generating
the RENAME INDEX statement.

Problem conclusion

  • Support for the RENAME INDEX statement has
been added in DB2 Object Compare.  The rename
information can be specified in the masking file or as
a RENAME INDEX statement in the source DDL.
The DDL of the index has to be included in the
source DDL along with the RENAME INDEX
statement.
