APAR status

Error description

  • When the backend session user password contains an ampersand whe
    n specified during installation, backend Synergy sessions will n
    ot start.
    
    Pre-requisites.
    
    - On the the operating system where Synergy is installed, create
     a user which can start a Synergy session.
    
    - This user must have password on the OS which contains an amper
    sand:
    For example: password?123
    
    Steps to Reproduce
    
    1. Begin the installation of Change 5.2
    
    2. When asked to specify the Synergy session user, use the user
    which has the password that contains an ampersand.
    
    3. Complete the installation of Change.
    
    4. Start the Change server:
    
    ?CHANGE_HOME?/jetty/csctl.sh start
    
    5. Go to the Change Admin Log in Webpage and log in:
    
    http://server:port/change/admin
    
    Note: Change backend sessions failed to start as displayed in th
    e Admin Interface homepage.
    
    
    Workaround:
    
    1. On the Administration Server tab, Edit the Rational Synergy S
    ession User.
    
    2. Set the password to the same password as specified during the
     installation.
    
    Note: Backend sessions should now start.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is solved in Change 5.3.
    Logic has been added to decode the decrypted password. This
    solves the issue.
