PM06763: USING A VALUE PROMPT ON A DATE VARIABLE THROWS ERROR

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• a Date variable works if the prompt type is calendar but
  throws an error with a "Value Prompt":
       SBW-ERR-0020 Querying the SAP BW cube's failed. SAP error
  code: BAP-ERR-0002 A BAPI error has occurred in the function
  module  BAPI_MDDATASET_SELECT_DATA. Value 'WX_E_AT' of
  characteristic  0DATE is not a number with 000008 spaces .
  
          Note that 'WX_E_AT' is the BEx query name that
  got truncated.  BAPI trace reveals that we are sending down
  invalid MDX:
       SELECT
      ......
     ......
    FROM [ZQ1GOSC04/WX_FE_DATE_VAR] CELL PROPERTIES
  FORMAT_STRING SAP VARIABLES [DATE]
          INCLUDING [ZQ1GOSODT].[[WX_E_AT]
