PM06479: CACHE INVALIDATION FOR APPLICATION ROLES NOT WORKING

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Changing assignments to application roles has no immediate
effect as cache invalidation is not performed correctly.
Thus, a user that is assigned to a role of an application (or
place) does not immediately get the corresponding access
    rights.
This also includes mapping of "all authenticated user groups"
    (i.e. making the place public).
Same effect is for removing a user from a role: The user still
    has access.

Problem summary

  • Changing assignments to application roles has no immediate
effect as cache invalidation is not performed correctly. Thus, a
user that is assigned to a role of an application (or place)
does not immediately get the corresponding access rights. This
also includes mapping of "all authenticated user groups" (i.e.
making the place public). Same effect is for removing a user
from a role: The user still has access.

Problem conclusion

  • Improved cache invalidation so that Entitlements caches get
invalidated for a user and resource type independent of the
    application scope
