PM05319: OC CM USES DROP CREATE INSTEAD OF ALTER TO CHANGE FROM INDEX CONTROLLED PARTITIONING TO TABLE BASED PARTITIONING

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool CM ( Change Management ) function, or
  DB2 Object Compare Tool , a DROP / CREATE change is generated
  instead of a smart ALTER operation to change from indexed
  controlled partitioning to table partitioning for the target DB2
  table. In the Source object, the INDEX PART VALUE clauses are
  omitted to indicate that the change to table-based partitioning
  is to be performed.

Problem conclusion

• The DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS has been updated to
  generate DROP INDEX/CREATE INDEX statement sequence instead
  of dropping index by dropping the table space.
