Error description

  • This defect was found in Synergy 7.1 with patch 3 installed on W
    indows clients.
    
    When the location of a user's 'My Documents' folder is a UNC pat
    h beginning withj two backslash characters, the Synergy client w
    ill list only the user's id in the list of resolvers for a new t
    ask.
    
    A full list of resolvers is seen if the location of the 'My Docu
    ments' folder is a conventional path beginning with a drive lett
    er and colon.
    
    This behavior does not occur in the Synergy client started using
     web mode, in the Classic client, nor on any UNIX clients.
    
    Workarounds include 1) Use web mode to start sessions, or 2) spe
    cify the windows.user.home.path in the client systems ccm.proper
    ties file as a local conventional path beginning with a drive le
    tter.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When the location of a user's "My Documents" folder is a UNC
    path beginning withj two backslash characters, the Synergy
    client will list only the user's id in the list of resolvers
    for a new task.
    

Problem conclusion

  • There is no plan to fix this problem, since it only occurs
    in traditional mode, and traditional mode will be retired in
    the 7.2 release.  There is no problem in web mode.
