ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) at FABJDMP9 occurs when HP Image Copy is run under IMS compatible JCL with Multiple steps HASH check. 2. DEDB Pointer Checker issues unnecessary report header reports for every area when HP Image Copy runs under IMS Fast Path Basic Tools. 3. ABEND S0C4 ( ABEND0C4 ) at FABJDPSB occurs when HP Image Copy uses DFSMSdss DUMP command and fails to open an empty DEDB. 4. ABEND U0999 ( ABENDU0999 ) at FABJMAIN occurs when HP Image Copy processes only DEDB with DBALL=Y and HP pointer checker library is specified in STEPLIB. 5. ABEND U3916 ( ABENDU3916 ) at FABJDPS7 occurs when HP Image Copy encounters an unrecoverable I/O error in an image copy data set for DEDB with HPIO=Y. The causes of the problems are as follows: 1. HP Image Copy wrongly judges that the process is FASTIC because it uses nonexistent internal block under IMS compatible JCL. It is possible problem by storage condition. 2. HP Image Copy function that is invoked by IMS Fast Path Basic Tools has problems on following DD for the DEDB Pointer Checker. - MSGOUT DD - REPORTS DD If these DD are defined as the sequential data set (DSORG=PS), Hash check result reports only one area. If these DD are defined as the partitioned data set (DSORG=PO), the JOB terminates with ABEND S213-30 ( ABEND213 RSN30 ). If these DD are defined as the SYSOUT, unnecessary report header reports for every area. The cause of this problem is that DEDB Pointer Checker is called for initialization many times by HP Image Copy. 3. HP Image Copy does not clear the address of the freemained work area. 4. HP Image Copy creates a parameter list with no entries for HP Pointer Checker in the DBALL check routine. HP Pointer Checker judges it as a bad parameter list and returns error return code to HP Image Copy. 5. HP Image Copy unallocates an open ADS without closing.
Problem conclusion
FABJDMPN has been modified as follows: - Bypass FASTIC process under IMS compatible JCL. - Call the DEDB Pointer Checker with FUNC=INIT only once. FABJDBAL has been modified to return to FABJMAIN with RC=8 when it creates a parameter list with no entries for HP Pointer Checker. FABJMAIN has been modified as follows: - Change DBALL=Y to DBALL=N and bypass DBALL check routine when FABJDBAL returns with RC=8. - Change ABEND U0999 ( ABENDU0999 ) to ABEND U3999 ( ABENDU3999 ) because ABEND U0999 is test ABEND code. FABJDFCN has been modified not to call FABJMDPN when the address of the freemained work area is cleared. FABJMDPN has been modified to clear the address of the freemained work area. FABJDPSN has been modified to unallocate an open ADS after closing. The following modules have been reassembled.
