The FRD9003A with RC=4, RSN=410 says that the DDNAME, in this
case FRXWTORS is not available. There have already been 15
other DBs processed and 15 other times FRXWTORS was dynamically
processed and 15 other times FRXWTORS was dynamically
allocated/unallocated but for some reason, it appears the prior

unalloc either failed or was skipped, resulting in this problem.
    APAR/PTF PK88227/UK49148 and PK84689/UK46679 are applied.

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DRF abends with U0384-0000002C due to *
    * DD Name not available during dynamic *
    *                      allocation.                             *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
When DRF attempts to dynamically allocate a dataset, it
sometimes attempts to do so using an incorrect DD Name, in
which case recovery is terminated with abend U0384-0000002C.
In rare cases the DD Name field is not correctly initialized.

Problem conclusion

  • DRF is changed so that it always correctly initializes the DD
Name field prior to dynamic allocation.
