Error description

  • New function: Help prevent abends, data corruption and storage
overlays when DSN1COPY is used incorrectly.

    Typical error scenarios:

    - The user takes a DSN1COPY of a table space that is in basic
row format (BRF) and copies it to a table space that is in
      reordered row format (RRF).

    - The user specifies the wrong OBID for OBIDXLAT.

    - The user copies a simple, classic segmented or classic
partitioned table space to a universal table space, or vice
      versa.

For reference, the DB2 Codes manual has list of abend codes that
could occur as a result of incorrect use of DSN1COPY:

           /com.ibm.db29.doc.codes/db2z_abendcodesdsn1copy.htm

                                                     (DCR DK1299)

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • This apar is being closed FIN because it has been decided not to
add this serviceability to a current release of DB2 in the
    service stream.

The fix is being deferred to a later release of DB2.
