Error description

  • Rational Business Developer V7.5.1.4:

The EGL COBOL support does not display underscores in
constant fields on text forms when Highlight=underline is set
and no value is defined in the field.  The EGL debugger
correctly displays the underscores.

The COBOL support does not support Highlight=underline for
print forms but it should support this attribute for text forms.

Local fix

  • A testfix is available from support.

Problem summary

  • Constant fields defined with underline were not showing
underline when the field did not have a value.

Problem conclusion

  • The generator was checking the value length and ignoring the
FieldLen. The generator now checks both value length and
fieldlen for the size of the field.
