Error description

  • This enhancement enables partitioned tablespaces with NPIs to be
generated into a single jobstream for a REORG utility since DB2
V9 does not allow parallel REORG jobs of those partitioned
    spaces.

A new field called "Group partitions" was added to the HAA$UREO
REORG Utility Profile panel that enables this new feature.

    IMPORTANT:
    1) This Feature in DB2 Automation Tool generates syntax that is
dependent on DB2 APAR PK87762. This DB2 APAR must be
       applied.
    2) The "following" feature (generating non-consecutive
parts into a single statement) will not be supported
        for REORGs using LISTDEFS.

Also, Non consecutive partitions will be generated in a single
statement when this enhancement is complete. An example of this
    would be:

If, for example, parts 1, 2, 3, and 5 are included, Automation
Tool currently generates a separate REORG statement for each
partition as in the below example:

            REORG TABLESPACE DBNAME.TSNAME
            PART 1
            REORG TABLESPACE DBNAME.TSNAME
            PART 2
            REORG TABLESPACE DBNAME.TSNAME
            PART 3
            REORG TABLESPACE DBNAME.TSNAME
            PART 5

With this enhancement, Automation Tool will now group the REORG
statements for all partitions as in the following example:

           REORG TABLESPACE DBNAME.TSNAME
            PART (1:3,5)
