PM02527: QCF DELETES DESTINATIONS THAT SHOULD BE EXCLUDED FROM THE DELETE REQUEST

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• QCF deletes destinations that are not selected for delete.
  This occurs because of the way QCF does the EXCLUDE.
  In the time between the selection and the real execution,
  messages are sent to some other destination that hasn't been
  populated while building the panel, therefore it could not be
  excluded, and these messages to the new populated destination
  are deleted.

Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: Users of QCF3.1 that delete messages from    *
  *                 the panels. In some cases not only           *
  *                 the messages on selected destinations, but   *
  *                 also messages on some new destinations       *
  *                 are deleted (these are messages that         *
  *                 did not show in the destination summary      *
  *                 report, because they have been put on the    *
  *                 queues after the query/browse operation).    *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Summary report shows all destination    *
  *                      that satisfy the selection criteria.    *
  *                      Then messages on one or more destina-   *
  *                      tion are selected to be deleted.        *
  *                      Delete selects messages using all       *
  *                      selection criteria for summary          *
  *                      report and then excluding all destina-  *
  *                      tion that have not been selected for    *
  *                      unload.                                 *
  *                      But some new destination can show       *
  *                      after the summary report is created and *
  *                      before delete is finished. Messages on  *
  *                      such new destination will be deleted,if *
  *                      they show before the delete passes the  *
  *                      new created destination name.           *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  A new parameter is added to selection criteria.
  SELECT ENDTIME=D=yyyy.ddd,T=hh:mm:ss.123456
  The ENDTIME is the highest message creation time
  for all messages that show in the summary
  display.
  Only messages, created before this time will be
  seletcted to be copied or unloaded.
  

Problem conclusion

• Install the APAR to delete only messages that show
  in the panel's destination report.
