Error description

  • ]Customer is getting this error:

    'ReqWeb Error:
    The current password is incorrect.
    - Try again.
    -? ReqPro40.User.Password'

This error is seen when a user with admin rights tries to modify
a user's password that already has a existing password.
This error is not seen when modifying a user's password that did
     not have a existing password.

I've been able to reproduce this problem with 7.1.0.2 (also what
customer is using) but unable to reproduce with 7.0.1.6.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Log into a project through ReqWeb using a user with admin rig
    hts
    2. Open the Admin tool
    3. Select a user that already has a existing password
    4. Type in a new password and again into the validate password f
    ield
    5. Click Save and get the error

*If you select a user that does not have a existing password and
set a password, the error will not show up. But try to change t
he password again for that user and the error will appear*

Problem conclusion

  • To reproduce this problem, we need to create a new "admin"
group that has full permissions. I looked in to this
    further and found the following:

The problem is that web does not recognize any group other
than "Administrators" to be a true admin user.
