PM00470: THE APAR CHANGE VIC=Y TO BE ENABLE TO WORK WITH DBRC=N

Error description

• HPIC under ORF works with DBRC=N if DB is HDAM/HIDAM, and HPIC
  will be changed to enable VIC=Y to work with DBRC=N.

Problem summary

  *                      under ORF when VIC=Y and DBRC=N         *
  *                      keywords are specified for HIDAM.       *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR.         *
  ****************************************************************
  HPIC terminated with message FABJ0104E ( MSGFABJ0104E ) under
  ORF when VIC=Y and DBRC=N keywords are specified for HIDAM.
  
  The reason of the error is that HPIC requires DBRC=Y if VIC=Y is
  specified and regards the combination of DBRC=N and VIC=Y as
  error.
  
  But this behavior causes a problem for ORF user who has VIC=Y in
  the site default table of HPIC since ORF internally calls HPIC
  with DBRC=N.
  
  So, this APAR enables VIC=Y to work with DBRC=N. If DBRC=N and
  VIC=Y is specified, HPIC just skips NOTIFY.UIC processing of VIC
  data set for DBRC, instead of terminating with error.
  

Problem conclusion

• FABJPARM has been modified to enable to specify VIC=Y keyword,
  even if DBRC=N keyword is specified.
  
  FABJDMPN has been modified not to issue NOTIFY.UIC DBRC command
  when VIC=Y and DBRC=N keywords are specified.
  
  The following modules have been reassembled.
