Error description

  • In WebSphere Portal 6.1, a POC resolution service can be
    addressed by appending
    a "uri" query parameter to a URL. The scheme of the URI
    identifies the resolution
    service that is to be invoked by the portal framework. After the
    resolution, the
    portal framework sends a redirect that addresses the
    navigational state representing
    the result of the resolution. The redirect is needed to support
    relative POC URLs
    as well as to avoid URL aliases. However, due to that redirect,
    all other query
    parameters that have been appended in addition to the "uri"
    parameter are lost and
    are consequently not available when the actual resolution result
    is rendered.

Problem summary

  • In WebSphere Portal 6.1, a POC resolution service can be
    addressed by appending a "uri" query parameter to a URL. The
    scheme of the URI identifies the resolution service that is to

    portal framework sends a redirect that addresses the
    navigational state representing the result of the resolution.
    The redirect is needed to support relative POC URLs as well as
    to avoid URL aliases. However, due to that redirect, all other
    query parameters that have been appended in addition to the
    "uri" parameter are lost and are consequently not available when
    the actual resolution result is rendered.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This fix makes sure that all query parameters which are not
    meant for the addressed resolution service are encoded into the
    redirect URL to maintain these parameters across the redirect.
