• IBM Legcy API PortletContext.sendMessage() fails on Portal 6.1
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Legacy Portlet Messaging does not work if the Abstract
  Portlet name is passed in the send() call. In Portal 5.1 the
  same call sent the message to all Portlets on a page that are
  children of the abstract portlet.
  

Problem conclusion

• This fix enables our customer to define alias names for the
  receiving portlet. This makes it possible to configure this
  alias in a way that re-enables the pre-6.1 behaviour.
  
  To enable the alias feature the following property has to be set
  for WP ConfigService:
  
     legacy.portlet.messaging.enable.alias=true
  
  For a specific Portlet that should have an abstract name alias
  the following Config-Parameter has to be set in portlet.xml or
  the Admin-Console of Portal:
  
     com.ibm.wps.pe.pc.legacy.messaging.alias=<alias-name>
  
  After that configuration, a send() call with the <alias-name> as
  portletName parameter will dispatch the message additionally to
  all portlets on the page that have this alias.
