Error description

  • You just migrated to CICS/TS 4.1. You have programs that
do floating point arithmetic and are compiled with IEEE .
You are getting an abend0C7 Data Exception with DXC for IEEE
Exception Condition. The DXC is x'80' meaning IEEE invalid
    operation.
       This problem happens because the
IEEE-Invalid-Operation mask bit is unexpectedly set on in the
FPC register. This is the X'80' bit in byte 0 of the FPC
    register.

After migrating to CICS TS 4.1, floating point arithmetic
programs that have been compiled with the IEEE option can
incorrectly receive an abend 0C7 with Data Exception DXC for
    IEEE exception.
This occurs because the IEEE-Invalid-Operation bit is
unexpectedly set on in the FPC register.

Problem conclusion

  • Changes have been made in DFHAPLI1, DFHAPLJ1 and DFHAPLX1 in
order to correctly save and restore the floating point control
    register.
