APAR status

Error description

  • CUSTOMER RAN AN RFG PROGRAM WITH TEST=Y IN THE COMMAND. IN THE
    CONTROL TRACE 1 MILLION+ BLANK LINES WERE GENERATED. CUSTOMER
    SENT RFG SOURCE OVER THE NET. USING THEIR PROGRAM, WE WERE ABLE
    TO RECREATE THE CUSTOMER OBSERVED PROBLEM. IT APPEARS THAT
    THERE IS A LOOP IN THE RFG CODE. IT WAS OBSERVED THAT WHEN
    RUNNING, THE RFG PROGRAM, THE % CPU WENT TO 90%+ FOR A PERIOD
    OF TIME. THIS GIVES ME THE IMPRESSION THAT A TIGHT LOOP IS
    BEING ENTERED IN THE RFG CODE. NO OTHER DOCUMENTATION IS
    REQUIRED OTHER THAN THE RFG SOURCE, WHICH WE ALREADY HAVE.

Problem conclusion

  • MODIFIED MODULE DBDRFABD TO CHECK WHETHER OR NOT THE CURRENT
    TABLE LINE IS OF LENGTH ZERO (NO DATA) AND BYPASS THE TRACE OF
    THAT LINE IF IT IS FOUND TO BE OF LENGTH ZERO.
