Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS Change Management function
    creates a CHG file with a DROP INDEX and a DROP PRIMARY KEY
    which is processed in the wrong order.

    This issue only occurs on objects defined before DB2 9 i.e.
    on objects defined on a subsystem at a prior release of DB2
    which has then been migrated to DB2 9.
    A blank owner field in the version file will inherit the value
    from the creator field.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Primary key and primary key *
    * index were dropped in the *
    *                      wrong order.  Mismatched                *
    * OWNER fields were causing *
    *                      unnecessary drop/create.                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    The ALTER DROP PRIMARY KEY statement was
    not recognized as such so the prefix field was set
    incorrectly. The OWNER fields from DB2 v8 objects
    default to blank. OWNER fields from DB2 v9 are
    not blank. This caused a drop/create that was
    not necessary.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been resolved.
