Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS DEDB FAST RECOVERY Version 2 * * Release 2 (FMID=H1J2220) users who use DL/I * * databases. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If one of the following occurs after * * creation of a x'4025' log record or a * * X'25' log record for a DL/I database, * * DFR in IMS V9, V10, or V11 issues a * * MSGDFR3402E message and ends with an * * abend code U3402. * * - The DB is deleted by MODBLKS online * * change * * - The DB is deleted by a DELETE DB * * command (only when DRD is enabled in * * IMS V10 or later) * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** If there is no DDIR that corresponds to a EEQE of a DL/I database which a checkpoint log record (x'4025') or an EEQE log record (x'25') has been logged, DFR in IMS V9, V10, or V11 issues a MSGDFR3402E message and ends with an abend code U3402. But, when one of the following is performed, it is correct that DDIR is not found. - The DB is deleted by MODBLKS online change - The DB is deleted by a DELETE DB command (only when DRD is enabled in IMS V10 or later) So DFR should issue a MSGDFR3402W message instead of the MSGDFR3402E message, and ends with return code of 4 or higher instead of the abend code U3402.
Problem conclusion
The following modules have been modified. (x = 9, A and B) * DFRLDB1x - This module was changed so that DFR issues a MSGDFR3402W message and ends with return code of 4 or higher when a DL/I database that corresponds to an EEQE is deleted after creation of a x'4025' log record or a x'25' log record. * ======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== IMS DEDB Fast Recovery for z/OS Version 2 Release 2 User's Guide and Reference (Document Number: SC27-0928-03) should be changed as follows. ================================================================ Appendix B.
