Error description

  • DB2A,ABND=04E-00C90101,U=xxxx ,M=(N),C=910.LOCN=::xx.xx.xx.xx
    ,LOC=DSNIDM  .DSNIRNXT:5024
    after query of table with XML column.

    Prerequisite for ABEND:
    NULL value must have been inserted into column
    DB2_GENERATED_DOCID_FOR_XML.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 9 for z/OS users who inserts NULL to *
    *                 DB2_GENERATED_DOCID_FOR_XML column.          *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The DB2_GENERATED_DOCID_FOR_XML column  *
    * contains a generated unique document id *
    * for each XML document stored in the *
    * table. Currently, DB2 allows user to *
    * insert NULL value to the column. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The DB2_GENERATED_DOCID_FOR_XML column contains a generated
    unique document id (DOCID) for each XML document stored in a
    table which contains XML column. If a NULL value is inserted
    into the DB2_GENERATED_DOCID_FOR_XML column, ABEND04E RC00C90101
    DSNIRNXT ERQUAL5024 will occur when querying the table for the
    XML document.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 is modified so when user inserts NULL value to
    DB2_GENERATED_DOCID_FOR_XML column, the insert will be
    succeeded. But the NULL value will be ignored and a generated
    unique document id will be inserted.
