Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS created invalid REBIND
syntax when processing packages bound in a prior release.
For example:
REBIND PACKAGE(AAAAAAA .AAAAAA .(2006-05-12-02.09.48.128-472))
- note the blank space before the periods
which resulted in the error message:
DSNECP55 INVALID SYNTAX FOR PACKAGE KEYWORD PARAMETER
.(2006-05-12-02.09.48.128-

Local fix

  • Manually edit the syntax to remove the spaces

The DSNECP55 INVALID SYNTAX FOR PACKAGE KEYWORD PARAMETER
message occurs due to spaces being present in the DB2 catalog
caused by the migration from a previous DB2 release.
