The following java.lang.ClassCastException error may occur
during JAX-WS message decryption:

org.apache.axiom.om.impl.llom.OMTextImpl incompatible with
org.apache.axiom.om.OMElement

When WS-Security attempts to decrypt encrypted data,  a
java.lang.ClassCastException error may occur.  A stack trace
similar to the following would appear in trace.log:

CWWSS5601E: The following exception occured while decrypting
the message: java.lang.ClassCastException:
org.apache.axiom.om.impl.llom.OMTextImpl incompatible with
org.apache.axiom.om.OMElement at
com.ibm.ws.wssecurity.enc.EncryptionConsumer.createDecryptedPart
(EncryptionConsumer.java:1065) at
com.ibm.ws.wssecurity.enc.EncryptionConsumer.decryptEncryptedDat
a(EncryptionConsumer.java:1003) at
com.ibm.ws.wssecurity.enc.EncryptionConsumer.decrypt(EncryptionC
onsumer.java:814).

Problem conclusion

This problem occurs because the WS-Security decryption
implementation fails to skip non-encrypted whitespace data
nodes that are not for decryption processing.  These data
nodes are represented as OMTextImpl objects instead of the
expected OMElement objects.

The code has been updated to allow for the OMTextImpl objects
that should be skipped during message decryption.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.9. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
