Error description

  • In DB2 Administration Tool the use of ALTER TABLE ROTATE
PARTITION can cause the LKEY command display in panel ADB21TAV
to display different values, depending on whether the LKEY
command is issued against the table, or the underlying
    partitioning INDEX.
    .
LKEY against the table results in correct key display in
correct order, where keys appear in ascending or descending
order, depending on the INDEX definition.
    .
Using an ascending partitioning INDEX, and using LKEY command
against the partitioning INDEX shows 'rotated' partitions key
values first, followed by 'remaining' partitions' key values.
This panel ADB21TAV display is not in true ascending order, as
the 'rotated' partitions have higher key values than the
'remaining', original partitions' key values. As a result of the
incorrect order of key values, keys appear to be associated with
incorrect partition numbers in the panel ADB21TAV display.

Local fix

  • Use table LKEY display
