    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
This error occurs after VTOC Index was extended on an HDS DASD
    Volume.

SPMN issues OBTAIN macro with an absolute disk address to search
the FORMAT-1 DSCB of VTOC index data set, reads VTOC Index, and
    gets free space information.

However, SPMN encounters OBTAIN macro failure, because the
FORMAT-1 DSCB of VTOC index data set is not in the specified
address in case of HDS DASD.

This is why MSGIOS000I is issued incorrectly and SPMN
sets all zero in FREE SPACE ON VOLUME section in "TOTAL DASD
    UTILIZATION BY VOLUME/DEVICE-TYPE REPORT".

Problem conclusion

  • The following modules are modified to issue OBTAIN MACRO with
    VTOC data set name.
