Error description

  • The DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS RENAMECOL feature
does not support wildcarding therefore a MASK of:
RENAMECOL:*.table.col1,col2
is not applied to the compare resulting in:
Compare table source(aaa.aaa) and target(bbb.bbb)
  (D)Column col2     added
  (D)Column col1     dropped
  Table bbb.bbb will be dropped
  Table will be recreated
  Table data will not be converted

Local fix

  • Do not use wildcarding with RENAMECOL

Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When DB2 Object Comparison Tool         *
*                      performs RENAMECOL masking with a       *
*                      wildcard, masks are not applied         *
*                      and results in a table drop and         *
*                      recreate.                               *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
When a wildcard is used in masking, RENAMECOL is
not identified and the mask is not applied.

Problem conclusion
