• PEV5001I  DBD1 PWH IS STARTING
  PEV5010S  DBD1 DB2 CONNECTION FAILED. SEE JOB LOG FOR DETAILS

  FYI.
  When PWH is starting PE Server Subtask tries to establish a
  connection to DB2 to allocate the DB2PM plan.  Later on when the
  Create Thread function to DSNRLI (part of RRSAF) returns
  RS=X'00F30040'  (the requested plan is not known to DB2) along
  with RC=12 PE Server Subtask automatically creates and binds the
  plan itself.
  
  As per customers report FPEV9999I (10:01:17.36280) DBD1
  DGOVRSFI DBD1 DGOZCAF RC=00000008 RS=00F30040 CREATE THREAD
  DB2PM we can see the DB2 may return either RC=8 or RC=12
  depending on version or other circumstances.
  

Local fix

• 1. Create a plan called DB2PM and model it after KO2PLAN.
  2. Start the O2 task.  The PWH task would receive JCL error
  3. Stop the O2 task and delete the DB2PM plan (freed it)
  4. Start the O2 task which would proceed to create all the
     packages and bind it needed.  The PWH task would run (many
     times) successfully and create the Performance Warehouse

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  When PWH is starting, PE Server subtask tries to establish a
  connection to DB2 to allocate the DB2PM plan. Later on when
  the Create Thread function returns RC=8 / RS=X'00F30040'
  (the requested plan doesn't exist or is unavailable) PWH stops
  instead of creating the plan.
  
  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
  The code of the PE Server subtask is corrected. When PE Server
  subtask receives the reason code RS=X'00F30040', it
  automatically creates and binds the DB2PM plan and and PWH
  initialization continues.
