APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In DB2 Administration Tool the GEN and MIG functions produce DDL
    that uses correct SET CURRENT SQLID for CREATE TABLE. However,
    if that statement is followed by a SET CURRENT SQLID to issue a
    GRANT, the original SET CURRENT SQLID is not re-set for
    subsequent CREATE statements, when running with RUN SQLID and
    when GENERATE CATALOG STATS is YES.

Local fix

  • Set GENERATE CATALOG STATS to NO

    * override value for the "Run SQLID" *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    The following conditions are required for the problem to
    occur:
    - DDL and catalog statistics requested from GEN
    - Run SQLID override specified
    - Either a or b:
     a) Grantee override specified and the value is different
        from Run SQLID
     b) Grantee override not specified and the authorization
        needed for the grant is different from Run SQLID
    - GRANT statements requested and there are GRANT statements
      that will be generated
    - A CREATE statement must follow a GRANT statement
      (e.g. CREATE INDEX in CREATE TABLE ... ;
                            GRANT SELECT ON TABLE ....;
                            CREATE INDEX  ....;  )

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed.
