APAR status

Error description

  • Routine IPIRFVAL is incorrectly setting a bit in table IPIRFMET.
    As this bit is unused by other routines, this only becomes a
    problem if IPIRFMET is in read-only storage.
    IPIRFMET is marked as RENT (because it should be read-only) and
    so if the SIPILINK library is APF-authorized z/OS loads it into
    subpool 252 which is read-only, which results in the ABENDS0C4
    near x'C0A' of IPIRFVAL.
    

Local fix

  • This issue can be bypassed by removing APF authorization for
    the library.
