Error description

  • MSGIQC3026E issued along with text:
    EOF before CheckPoint complete
    
    An unexpected non-consecutive message caused the issue and
    we'll need to correct this by issuing a warning message instead
    of IQC3026E.
    
    Additional issue fixed:
    Running IQCSELCT produces MSGIQC3054T as follows:
      IQC3054T Checkpoint  2 - No End of CheckPoint Record found,
      Terminating.
    Running with the real log (SLDS) does not produce the error,
    but running with the extracted archive log is when the select
    error occurs.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of QCF that use QCF methods to rebuild *
    *                 the queues. All 3 ways to rebuild the queues *
    *                 are impacted :                               *
    *                 - using procedures with IQCSELCT;            *
    *                 - using batch with CHKPT LAST,..;            *
    *                 - using skeletons to create rebuild          *
    *                   procedures.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The first log data set is located using *
    *                      recons , or is set in the JCL.          *
    *                      If the first data set occupies several  *
    *                      volumes-second and next are not read    *
    *                      - read stop on EOV and the records that *
    *                      are on next volumes are not accepted.   *
    *                      An error message is issued, that the    *
    *                      end of log data has been reached, but   *
    *                      the selected checkpoint is not          *
    *                      completed.                              *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The programs are changed to continue reading the log data set's
    next volumes, after EOV is encounterred.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The EOV is recognized now and the read continues.
