Error description

  • When viewing a attribute matrix view in ReqWeb with 'Traced-From
' and 'Traced-To' columns, the values for 'Traced-From' are shif
ted right into the 'Traced-To' column and the 'Traced-To' column
values (and anything to the right of that column) are not shown
. There is no problem with the view in ReqPro client.

I was able to reproduce this using a sample project (Learning Pr
oject - Use Cases). Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a 'trace-to' relationship from any TERM requirement to
     any SUPP requirement
    2. Create a 'trace-from' relationship from any TERM requirement
    to any FEAT requirement
    3. Create a new Attribute Matrix View, select TERM as the requir
ement type. Click Query to add the attribute 'Traced-to' and sel
    ect 'SUPP'
    4. In the view, it should show the 'Traced-from' value as 'FEAT1
    ' and 'Traced-to' value as 'SUPP1'
    5. Save the view
    6. Open the view in ReqWeb and notice that in the 'Traced-from'
column is blank, under 'Traced-to' shows 'FEAT1' and 'Root Tag'
is blank. 'FEAT1' should be under 'Traced-from', not 'Traced-to'
    .

If you do not have a 'Traced-from' value in the view, the 'Trace
d-to' value (and anything to the right) also does not show up.

This defect was found in RequisiteWeb 7.1.0.01.

Problem summary

  • When viewing a attribute matrix view in ReqWeb with
"Traced-From" and "Traced-To" columns, the values for
"Traced-From" are shifted right into the "Traced-To" column
and the "Traced-To" column values (and anything to the right
of that column) are not shown. There is no problem with the
    view in ReqPro client.

I was able to reproduce this using a sample project
(Learning Project - Use Cases). Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a "trace-to" relationship from any TERM
    requirement to any SUPP requirement
    2. Create a "trace-from" relationship from any TERM
    requirement to any FEAT requirement
    3. Create a new Attribute Matrix View, select TERM as the
requirement type. Click Query to add the attribute
    "Traced-to" and select "SUPP"
    4. In the view, it should show the "Traced-from" value as
    "FEAT1" and "Traced-to" value as "SUPP1"
    5. Save the view
    6. Open the view in ReqWeb and notice that in the
"Traced-from" column is blank, under "Traced-to" shows
"FEAT1" and "Root Tag" is blank. "FEAT1" should be under
    "Traced-from", not "Traced-to".

If you do not have a "Traced-from" value in the view, the
"Traced-to" value (and anything to the right) also does not
    show up.

This defect was found in RequisiteWeb 7.1.0.01.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem is fixed by added a new validation that permit
the correct functionality on the Trace-From and Trace-To
field on the view in ReqWeb.
