APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After migration from VisualAge Generator, the EGL program was ab
  ending with  the following errors:
  
    GEN0021
    GEN0093
    GEN0073
    MCH3601
  
  
  The EZECRS-CNT PIC S9(4) COMP. field is normally a 2 byte field
  on the zSeries and also the iSeries if the COMPASBIN compiler op
  tion was set. If COMPASBIN is not set, the iSeries (only) makes
  COMP fields packed decimal, which occupies 3 bytes. Since memory
   being mapped by the linkage section item was getmained from the
   runtime, it was expecting that the field to by 2 bytes and in b
  inary.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The comp field was changed to comp-4 to prevent the iseries
  compiler default of creating a packed decimal field of 1
  byte longer.
  

Problem conclusion

• Software updated.
