PK89306: CEX WAIT IF ARCHIVE JOB SUBMITTED WHILE JES2 IS DOWN

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If the CEX journal manager attempts to submit an archive job to
  JES via the internal reader while JES is not available, the
  internal reader process will hang and prevent CEX from
  journaling any event records until JES has been restarted.  This
  is likely to result in the IMS Connect region entering a wait
  state because all of the event recording buffers are full.

Problem conclusion

• This APAR changes the CEX Journal Manager component to
  submit the archive job using an asynchronous process
  that does not cause the journal manager task to wait
  for the archive jobstep submission.
