Error description
This APAR adds Extended Address Volumes (EAV) support in Space Monitor. Space Monitor is one of utilities in IMS HP Pointer Checker. EAV is a DASD storage that have 65,521 or larger cylinders supported by z/OS 1.10.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM IMS High Performance Pointer Checker for * * z/OS Version 3 Release 1 (FMID=HPC2310) * * users who use Space Monitor (SPMN). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SPMN supports data sets which are * * created on the Extended Address Volume * * (EAV). * * * * EAV has more than 65,520 cylinders per * * volume. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** By this APAR, SPMN is enhanced to support data sets on the Extended Address Volume (EAV). Note that format of some reports and messages are changed by this APAR.The changes are applied not only for EAV but all cases. The changed reports are follows: - Space Analysis by Data Set report - Total DASD Utilization by Volume/Device-Type report - Legend report - Space Monitor Exception report The overview of format changes are: - In the Total DASD Utilization by Volume/Device-Type report, digits of the number cylinders are increased and start positions of some fields are moved to right. - In Space Monitor Exception report, some warning messages are changed to make clear the meanings. The messages appear when thresholds exceptions are detected. - In all of above reports, an asterisk(*) is added to device number in case of EAV. Example:. 3390-A : When the dasd volume is 3390-A and has cylinders less than 65520. 3390-A* : When the dasd volume is 3390-A and has cylinders 65520 or more.
