Error description
The QMF Q.OBJECT_DIRECTORY LAST_USED column is updated when executing the DISPLAY, RUN, CONVERT, EXPORT, IMPORT, SAVE commands upon a QMF object (PROC, QUERY or FORM). Some users prefer to have the LAST_USED column updated *ONLY* when a QMF object is RUN, SAVEd or IMPORTed. This APAR will add that capability.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All QMF for TSO/CICS V8.1 and V9.1 users * * referencing the LAST_USED information for * * QMF objects. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The LAST_USED column of the * * Q.OBJECT_DIRECTORY table, which holds * * information that is typically seen * * through the QMF list function, is * * updated when a QMF query, proc or form * * is used through the following commands: * * DISPLAY, CONVERT, IMPORT, EXPORT, * * LAYOUT, PRINT, RUN and SAVE. Some * * customers do not want that column to be * * updated for all the various commands. * * They only want the column updated when * * the RUN, SAVE and IMPORT commands are * * executed on a QMF object. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** This APAR will enhance QMF to update the Q.OBJECT_DIRECTORY LAST_USED column for QUERIES, PROCS and FORMS that are used through the RUN, SAVE and IMPORT commands only. The enhancement will be in effect when the new global variable, DSQEC_LAST_RUN is set to the value of '1'. The default for this new global variable will be '0'. The default behaviour will be for QMF to function as it does prior to this APAR, and update the Q.OBJECT_DIRECTORY LAST_USED column for any QMF object involved in any QMF command. The QMF installation options module, DSQUOPTS, is also updated to allow for the LAST_USED global variable to be updated through the options module as the global variables DSQEC_SHARE and DSQEC_DISABLEADM are.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
Users who are currently running with a customized DSQUOPTS module that do not wish to use the new feature do not need to reassemble the module at the new level. QMF will tolerate the downlevel module.
