Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: All Distributed Data Facility (DDF) users.   *
*                 Specifically, those using DB2 for z/OS as    *
*                 a server and have enabled Database System    *
*                 Monitor on the client to monitor remote      *
*                 statements.                                  *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABND=04E-00E20029,                      *
*                      LOC=DSNLCDG2.DSNSVBK+0A54               *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

DB2 for z/OS server, in some cases, doesn't allocate enough
space to accomodate monitoring data at the end of a reply.
This caused the communication buffer list to get overlaid
which eventually leads to the abend.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 for z/OS server processing has been corrected to make sure
that there is always enough room in the buffer list to append
monitoring data at the end.
