APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS issues the message:
  Table partitioning needed for table CHRIS.DPSI
      but no partitioning info available from index/table
    Unable to convert to table-controlled partitioning
    GOCC002E - Severe error. Compare terminates
  when the source DDL contains only a new DPSI index.
  

Local fix

• Use complete DDL for the objects in addition to the new index
  DDL.

  The source DDL has only one object i.e index(DPSI).
  The Target has Tablespace, Table, index.
  
  When compared with KEEPTGT option, compare failed in merge
  expecting table definition as part of source DDL.
  

Problem conclusion

• Resolved. When table definition is missing, Merge will let the
  DPSI be simply passed on.  In the customer scenario, the delta
  change  would be to add additional index(DPSI) onto target.
