APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The DB2 Object Comparison Tool's handling of Short of Storage
conditions will be improved so that the modules will end
gracefully should an allocation fail.
Additional symptom:
SYSPRINT dataset shows only message:
"Only user requested ignore fields are reported".

Local fix

  • Ensure REGION specified as per the guidance in page 12 of the
User's Guide.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When an online compare is performed     *
*                      with a small TSO region size, the       *
*                      problem cause is not reported.          *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
Changes were made to all compare programs to trap ONCODE 3920
out of a storage abend and issue the error reason before compare
terminates.

Problem conclusion
