Problem summary

*                 that uses Admin functions to modify objects  *
*                 that have related implicitly created objects *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Admin functions did not preserve    *
*                      the attributes of the implicit objects  *
*                      when they were dropped and recreated    *
*                      by an Admin function. Furthermore,      *
*                      the Admin functions were not able to    *
*                      generate jobs to run DB2 utilities      *
*                      against these implicit objects when     *
*                      they are recreated by a function.       *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *

Support for preserving attributes and generating DB2 Utilities
on implicit objects were missing.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been resolved with a few exceptions:
- STOGROUP and BUFFERPOOL (page size changes) for table spaces
  will not be preserved
- CLUSTER, STOGROUP, and PIECESIZE will not be preserved for
  indexes.

  IBM expects to lift some or perhaps all of these restrictions
  in a later PTF.
