APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • We installed the PE Agent on this  new  DB2 Connect Gateways
successfully.   After a certain amount of time, DB2 Connect
stopped working. Further analysis revealed that the DB2
analysis revealed that the DB2 Connect Gateway had reach the max
number of pooled agents.  This was strange since there were no
applications using that Gateway.  The only application was the
PE Agent.   Further testing showed that every time the PE Agent
was started, it would keep starting new JDBC connections without
closing them, and ultimately kill the Gateway.

Local fix

  • Note: The 09/05/22 target date is the latest date we will
provide a permanent fix. Individual customers will be provided
with interim fixes on request.
