Error description

  • In DB2 Object Compare Tool panel GOC14 an error message
' INVALID DB2 LOCATION ' is issued if the DB2 location
name is not found in the local copy of SYSIBM.LOCATIONS .

Local fix

  • Add DB2 location name to SYSIBM.LOCATIONS .

*                 GOC14.                                       *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: User  was not able to enter a correct   *
*                      location  for the target object(s) on   *
*                      panel GOC14 an error message 'INVALID   *
*                      DB2 LOCATION '  is issued  if the DB2   *
*                      location  name is  not  found in  the   *
*                      local copy of SYSIBM.LOCATIONS.         *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *

When the DB2 location is read from panel GOC14 , if it is blank.
or equal to current DB2 system, we convert it to DB2 location.
However, it was validated against the current DB2 system name.

Problem conclusion
