Error description
SQL INSERTs, UPDATEs, or DELETEs during REORG SHRLEVEL(CHANGE) Utility on a user tablespace are lost. Messages for the LOG phase of the REORG showed that no log records were applied. .. This problem can occur if the REORG is running during or immediately following the conversion to New Function Mode for a non-data sharing system. .. The problem could also occur for REORG TABLESPACE PART n SHRLEVEL REFERENCE if all non-partitioning indexes have the COPY YES attribute, or for REBUILD INDEX SHRLEVEL CHANGE. DB2INCORR/K

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 9 for z/OS users of the REORG * * SHRLEVEL CHANGE or REBUILD SHRLEVEL * * CHANGE utilities in non-data sharing. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Log records not applied during REORG * * SHRLEVEL CHANGE or REBUILD SHRLEVEL * * CHANGE in a non-data sharing * * environment if the current RBA is * * higher than the current store clock * * value and new function mode (NFM) is * * entered while the REORG or REBUILD are * * running. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available. * **************************************************************** In a non-data sharing environment, if the current RBA is higher than the current system clock value, and new function mode (NFM) is enabled while a REORG SHRLEVEL CHANGE, REORG SHRLEVEL REFERENCE (when it has a LOG phase), or REBUILD SHRLEVEL CHANGE job is running, a change in the data stored in SYSLGRNX records triggered by NFM might cause the REORG or REBUILD log apply phases to miss log records. This could cause missing records in the table space being reorganized, or a corruption in the index being rebuilt. Similar problems could occur when falling back to ENFM* or CM* from NFM.
Problem conclusion
REORG and REBUILD have been modified to correctly read SYSLGRNX records even if NFM is enabled while they are running, and thus to read all required log records.
