APAR status

Error description

  • Bad data passed from EGL to COBOL.
    We are migrating from VaGen
    4.5 on Java to EGL/RBD.  EGL is generated to COBOL with text use
    r
    interfaces; target environment is z/OS CICS mainframe.  The prob
    lem
    happens in both EGL 7101 and 7103.  Tform-id is being passed to
    a COBOL
    program run via the internal reader.  Character numeric data is
    transformed to garbage: Y000{0000{000{0000{DRCWE.

    Severity explanation
    This error is holding up our migration from VaGen to EGL/RBD.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Certain num type field that were part of a subgroup, or as
    an array were not being initialized properly
    

Problem conclusion

  • Software updated. Fixtest for 7103 is available.
