PK82608: CONNECTCLIENT.ENDREQUEST AND CMPNTREFERENCE.RETRIEVEFROMCMPNTMAP PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • ConnectClient.endRequest can be optimized. Specifically, the
6.0.1.5 version will always call DateFormat.getDateTimeInstance,
but it's only needed if tracing is enabled. Suggested code
changes have been e-mailed to dev.

The method CmpntReference.retrieveFromCmpntMapper has a trace
message which is output in the case that the component is null.
One customer likely seeing this because they have invalid
content references. In any case, this method will retrieve the
name and type from the mapper, but only use them if tracing is
enabled. Suggested code changes e-mailed to DEV.
