PK82408: external requirements cannot be opened in ReqPro 7.1 / errormess age: 'explicit conversion to VARIANT required'

Error description

• Opening of external requirements within RequisitePro 7.1 creates
  the following error: 'Runtime Error: explicit conversion to VAR
  IANT required'
  
  Up to v7.0.1.2, you could doubleclick on an external trace and y
  ou got a requirement properties popup directly 'live' from the o
  ther project.
  (Of course, external projects have to be connected before.)
  Since v7.1, the doubleclick on an external trace causes an  erro
  r (actually, two consecutive error popups).

  Stepts to reproduce:
  
  - create project a and project b, with different project prefixe
  s
  - create a user in project a and create a user in project b, use
  rs's ids and passwords are identical
  - create a requirement in project a and create a requirement in
  project b
  - in project a, do the following remaining steps:
  - connect project a and project b (menu file - externalprojects)
  , assure connection is established
  - open the created requirement in project a, in requirement prop
  erties select tab traceability, add a trace to the requirement y
  ou created in project b (!)
  - the external trace from the requirement in project a to the re
  quirement in project b is shown correctly
  - doubleclick on the trace, this causes the errors
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• User was not able to open external requirement properties
  due some problems related to package security.
  

Problem conclusion

• To fix this issue I modified some methods related to package
  security to handle correctly external requirements.
