Error description

  • Permit IMS Recovery Expert and IMS Tools Knowledge Base to
    have their ISPF libraries merged.
    .
Without this enhancement, this can occur if libraries are
    merged:
    - A customer merges the RE and ITKB components into a
      single set of libraries.
    - They enter RE's ISPF interface by first getting into ITKB
      to view an RPID report.
    - ITKB issues ISPF LIBDEFs to access its components.
    - Since ITKB and RE components are in merged libraries, this
      also established RE's ISPF environment.
    - RE uses the ISPF PQUERY service to check if its panels can
      be accessed.
    - If the PQUERY fails, RE sets up its own LIBDEFs.
    - Since the panel being queried existed in the libraries
established by ITKB, RE bypassed its LIBDEFs.
    - ITKB does not issue a LIBDEF for the skeleton library
      (ISPSLIB).
    - Since RE bypassed its LIBDEFs, there was no active LIBDEF
      for ISPSLIB.
    - RE's invocation of ISPF's FTINCL service failed because the
      skeleton wasn't found.
    - This resulted in nothing being generated by file tailoring
and an empty data set being presented to the user.

This is based off of FITS REQ MR0211097843.

Local fix

  • Adding an SLIB LIBDEF in the ITKB EXEC.
