PK80329: HIGH CPU USAGE BY OMPE SERVER SUBTASK LOAD MODULE FPEVDB2I

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When data retrieval requests are issued to the PE Server subtask
  load module FPEVDB2I requests the performance data from DB2
  and returns them to the requester. During data processing the
  whole internally used data buffer is copied instead of the
  limited amount of data returned by DB2 and therefore more CPU
  cycles are consumed than necessary.
  
  This APAR will reduce the amount of copied data and used CPU
  cycles.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  When data retrieval requests are issued to the PE Server
  subtask, load module FPEVDB2I requests the performance data from
  DB2 and returns them to the requester. During data processing
  the whole internally used data buffer is copied instead of the
  amount of data returned by DB2 and therefore more CPU cycles are
  consumed than necessary and response is slow.
  
  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
  During data processing only the amount of data returned by DB2
  is copied. The code has been fixed accordingly.
