    *                  Server V6.0.2                               *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: There is an exception thrown within *
    * the Channel code that is suppressed *
    * and is not thrown up the chain to the *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When an IOException occurs while filling a buffer it was
    suppressed instead of being thrown up the chain to the caller

Problem conclusion

  • When filling a buffer a new variable was added to
    indicate if it should be thrown up the chain to the calling
    component. If an exception is thrown and the variable is true
    then the exception will be thrown up the chain, otherwise it
    will just be logged and operation will continue.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 6.0.2.35. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
