PK79885: IMS CONNECT AND CEX INITIALIZATION TAKES TOO MUCH TIME

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When IMS Connect has connections to an IMSPLEX  and the IMS
  Connect Extension Publisher API is active, a delay may be seen
  in IMS Connect connecting to a CSL address space in the IMSPLEX
  and completing initialization.  This is only present when IMS
  Connect is defined as swappable in the Program Property Table.
  The delay is caused by the way that IMS Connect is setting the
  address space non-swappable as required for the Publisher API.

  It can take minutes for IMS Connect to finish initialization
  when an IMSPLEX is being used and the IMS Connect Extensions
  Publisher API is active. The problem is caused by the way
  that CEX is setting the address space non-swappable as needed
  for the Publisher API. The technique used by CEX is not
  compatible with the technique used by CSL which also sets
  the address space non-swappable.
  

Problem conclusion

• Module CEXPUBMN has been changed to set the address space
  non-swappable using the SYSEVENT TRANSWAP event which is
  compatable with the way that CSL attemps to set the address
  space non-swappable during ICON initialization.
